Bed & Bath Renovation: Design & Demolish

CK Valenti is lending its design & build talents to a Chandler master bedroom and bathroom renovation. We’ve been involved from the inception of the project, which started with a detailed design of the new spaces. Over the next few weeks we will document the project progress here on our blog. We’d love to hear your feedback!

Step 1: Design
The project starts with many (many, many) conversations about the design of both rooms. The homeowners want a modern look but with some traditional detailing mixed in for interest. CK Valenti will be building the following pieces for the two rooms:

In the bath: Vanity & wall vanity
In the bedroom & closet: Craftsman-style wainscot, bedside tables, media credenza, closet organization, and millwork (including crown & base moulding and door & window casing)

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the design elements chosen for the bathroom…

Step 2: Demolish
The bathroom is the first room to be cleared out and stripped down. This is a small master bath (the home was built in 1981 – you can see the remnants of 1980s peach paint behind the mirror!), so we need to optimize the space as much as possible. The sheet rock and flooring are removed, leaving only the concrete and framing.
