PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
Master Bathroom Renovation Reveal
Several months back, we started to report on an upcoming master suite renovation. We’re happy to be able to reveal the finished master bathroom!
BEFORE & AFTER:

The renovation was achieved by gutting the entire room – down to the bare framing and concrete. In total, the renovation consisted of the following:
Custom Vanity and Floating Shelves
The centerpiece of this small master bath is the handsome dresser-style vanity. The homeowner wanted a change from the typical bathroom vanity with doors, so CK Valenti Designs designed and built this four-drawer vanity. In order to accommodate the plumbing for the vessel sink, the drawers were built in a “U” shape, where the notch accommodates the pipes that come down from the sink and return into the wall. (Shown below)

Soft-close, easy-release Blum hardware connects the drawers to the vanity, making it very simple to remove the drawers if necessary to reach the plumbing. The vanity is finished in a dark brown stain with wide rectangular drawer pulls.
The countertop of the vanity is solid walnut with a gloss finish. The matching floating shelves provide both an aesthetic and functional element to the space between the vanity and shower. On the shelves, the homeowner’s antique apothecary jars hold various bathroom essentials.
Wide Vessel Sink with Dual Wall-Mounted Faucets
Since the bathroom could not be increased in size, CK Valenti Designs designed this vanity sink and faucet setup to allow the homeowners to share the sink without feeling they were on top of one another.
You may have noticed that the faucets are set up as mirror images of one another – as in, the control to turn the water on is on the left side of the leftmost faucet, and on the right side of the rightmost. This setup required some special plumbing assistance from our friends at Benjamin Franklin Plumbing (see the Education Corner below for a Q&A with The Punctual Plumbers!) Benjamin Franklin modified the plumbing of one of the faucets to move the control to the opposite side. How cool is that?
Tile Shower, Floor, and Backsplash
For simplicity in this small room, the tile, floor, and half wall behind the toilet and vanity were tiled in the same 12″ x 24″ linen-colored porcelain tile. For contrast, the floor and nook in the shower wall were tiled with a blue-green penny tile.
Special Touches
Chrome towel racks, simple beveled edge mirrors, and a beautiful light fixture polish off the warm, modern room. The wall color is Benjamin Moore’s Sea Haze.
EDUCATION CORNER
As a special feature this month, the Education Corner is a Q&A session with Linda Stanfield, CEO of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Chandler, Arizona.

Tell us a little about Benjamin Franklin Plumbing
Benjamin Franklin Plumbing is a full-service plumbing company offering residential plumbing services across the Valley. We are family owned and operated, which makes us better equipped to handle the problems associated to a household plumbing. Being licensed, bonded and insured is another attribute of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing that makes it your safest bet when it comes to plumbing services.
How long have you been in plumbing?
Since 1985.
Summer is coming…what is your most requested service in the summer?
Pipe leaks! We have many options to help the homeowner repair pipe leaks. Clogged drain issues are also common as we get more rain, which causes roots to grow into our sewer systems. We have great options to repair this, in most cases without replacing the entire sewer system.
For the CK Valenti Designs Master Bath Remodel, Benjamin Franklin modified a vanity faucet to move the handle to the opposite side of the fixture, so the two faucets would be mirror images over the sink. What other kinds of “special services” have you done for customers?
Everything from replacing a shower or tub to replacing an entire sewer system. We have the expertise to help anyone with any need after the home is built. It can be a minor repair or a new design update that is needed. There is no job too small or too big for us for any homeowner in the Phoenix area.
What sets you apart from other plumbing companies?
Our people, our values, our dedication, and most of all our knowledge and list of services we offer. We attract great people who really want to service homeowners and their needs the right way, the first time. We treat our customers as we would want our own mother treated and we are like the energizer bunny..we don’t stop..we work 24/7 since plumbing problems don’t know time!
What has your experience been working with CK Valenti Designs?
WOW it is plain super…we love working CK Valenti Designs. They are very creative they listen to the customer’s wants and needs and make it happen as promised. Their customers are always much happier than they expected to be up front. It makes our job better, when working with CK Valenti Designs, because they can put their magic touch on our plumbing work.
